My husband is a minimalist. He was Marie Kondo-ing his life years before Marie Kondo became a Pandemic sensation. While it means our home is always super organized, I was always a bit bummed when he told me he didn’t need me to knit him anything.

So when he asked me to knit him a new running hat I nearly exploded with joy. A change to design a practical hat AND visit my favorite local yarn shop. I dragged him down to Issaquah, and had him pick out his favorite yarn for me to work with.

This is the result. Lightweight, yet warm. Sturdy yet colorful and attractive. And the yarn was made by the owner of this amazing yarn shop. Doesn’t get more local than that! And to quote my happy husband, ¨this hat works great for running¨.

Best of all, this hat is a breeze to knit! The pattern is made up of basic knitting and purling stitches. Perfect for an easy peasy binge watching knit-a-thon!

This pattern is offered in 2 sizes, and the large size is shown modeled by both me and my husband.
