ERRATA January 2013: A fellow Raveler has pointed out that in the chart, on Row 16 (a WS row), the symbol in column 33 should be a purl stitch. Remember, though, because the stitch is worked on the wrong side of the piece, it’s worked as a knit.

The Heart on a String cowl is designed especially to showcase Dream in Color’s February 2012 Dream Club offering: their Classy Worsted weight dyed in shades of red and fuchsia — the perfect antidote to February’s sometimes-glum grey.

The cowl features neck-warming, cushy, rope and heart cables, garter stitch button bands, and buttons all the way up for an easily-customized fit.

Heart on a String is knit flat, at a fairly firm gauge that allows the finished cowl — even after blocking — stand up and offer maximum neck coverage against the lingering Winter cold.

Finished dimensions are: 25.5 in. (65 cm) wide by 9.25 in. (23.5 cm) high — unbuttoned, laid flat.

Note: The 5 buttons called for in the pattern are not included with the Club shipment.
