Momijigari is a long and lean shawlette designed especially to showcase Dream in Color’s October 2011 Dream Club offering: a 52% Mohair / 48% Merino blend in a 3-ply fingering weight dyed in all the hues that herald Autumn’s arrival.

And, the extra-long shape makes Momijigari perfect for draping over your shoulders to chase away the season’s chill, or snuggling around your neck like a scarf while enjoying the outdoor activities unique to Fall.

The garter-stitch body of the shawl is knit sideways, then yarn-over loops are picked up along the bottom edge of the triangle and the leaf-like lace section is knit back and forth.

Momijigari is the Japanese tradition of visiting scenic areas in the Fall to enjoy the changing colors of the leaves.

Until December 1, 2011, Momijigari will be available exclusively as part of the kit for the October 2011 installment of the Dream in Color Dream Club. In December, the pattern will be available for individual purchase and download here on Ravelry.
