Vostok is an ethereally lacy half-pi shawl designed especially to showcase Dream in Color’s March 2012 Dream Club offering.

The shawl features several, distinctive and delicate motifs and a wide, knitted-on border that eliminates the need to bind off hundreds of stitches along the bottom edge.

Beginning with a garter tab cast-on of just a few stitches, Vostok is worked from the top down and reaches a finished size, after blocking, of 60 inches wide by 24 inches deep, which allows it either to drape elegantly across the shoulders or to wrap, scarf or kerchief-like around the neck.

Vostok’s lace sections are primarily charted, and have lace worked on both the right side and the wrong side of the shawl.

Note: While the original Dream Club shipment contained enough yarn in 1 skein to complete the project, you will need 2 skeins of Wisp in its current 550 yard put-up to knit the pattern as written.
