HINE is a girl - the beautiful sister pattern to TAMA
The pattern is top-down seamless in construction, with beautiful lace leaf short sleeves….perfect for wearing as a short sleeved tee over the warmer months, or a layering tee over a long sleeved tee in the cooler months.

This free version is written for 10ply/Heavy Worsted or Aran weight yarn, and to fit a girl with a chest circumference of 50cm (aproximate age 18-24months).
The lace patterning is charted, however as it is only 2 small sleeves, this would be a perfect pattern for a beginner to lace charts.

Please note, there is not an error regarding buttonholes in this pattern……read the finishing section at the end, and it explains it. Trust the pattern, lovely knitters!

PS - wondering how to say the name of this pattern, or exactly what it means? The designer comes from New Zealand where the second national language is Maori.
Hine is a Maori word meaning ‘girl’ or ‘daughter’, pronounced ‘hee-neh’

HINE’, the extended version of ‘HINE is a girl has now been released!
This extended version of the pattern s written for 3 yarn weights ( 8ply/dk weight, 10ply/light worsted weight and 10ply/heavy worsted or aran weight), and to fit from 12 months (47.5cm chest) to 6 years (62.5cm).
You can purchase HINE on it’s own, or in the Tamariki e-book, where you can have TAMA and HINE for a discounted price
