This pattern is part of a very special e-book called Care Package.

Knitted from the cuff down, with a heel flap and gusset, these socks feature an elegant intertwined cable that runs down the front of the leg and foot. The texture is rich but not too complex, making these socks a satisfying knit but also simple enough for a young man to wear.
There’s something grounding in knitting for someone you love, stitch by stitch, weaving care into every round. These socks were made for walking into the world, and hopefully, for always finding a way back home.

SIZES
Small (Medium, X-Large). To fit a foot circumference of approx. 7½ (8¾, 10)” 19, 22, 25) cm. Shown in size Medium.

MATERIALS
Yarn: 1 skein of Yak Sock by Yarn Jam (70% Merino/20% Yak / 10% Nylon; 438yd 400m; in 100g), or 360 (400, 436) yd 334 (366, 398) m of fingering weight yarn. Shown in colorway Nutty.
Tips for substituting: You can use any fingering weight yarn you like, but your socks will last longer if you choose a yarn with multiple plies, and with a certain amount of nylon, polyamide, or other hardwearing fiber like mohair or silk.
Needles: US 1 (2.25 mm) dpns or long circular needles for magic loop (my preferred length for magic loop is a 32”/80cm long needle).
Other notions: Cable needle, stitch markers, tapestry needle.

GAUGE
36 sts and 50 rounds to 4” 10 cm in Stockinette St on US 1 2.25 mm needles.
