Larix Decidua Shawl
Larix Decidua, named for the European Larch tree, is a leaf-patterned lace shawl. It begins with a long garter stitch tab and is knitted from the top down. The curved triangle shape sits easily on the shoulders. Made full-size, it’s enveloping and warm while being elegant enough for the most formal occasions.
The leaf design is an original stitch pattern with fancy stitches only on the right side. The knitted-on border is true lace knitting, adapted from a Victorian lace border design and patterned on both sides. This border is not difficult, but it does require extra attention. The size of the shawl can be easily adjusted by adding or subtracting repeats.
This pattern is both charted and written out.

/ - K2tog, WS: (Slip 1 knit-wise) twice; insert left-hand needle into front of these 2 stitches and knit them together
\ - SSK, WS: Knit two stitches together as one stitch
