This pattern includes BOTH the hat and the cowl pattern.

The Las Moracitas Hat and Cowl set features an easy, yet fun to knit lace pattern. The pattern is set between columns of purls, giving the fabric a bit of stretch. The hat is a little bit slouchy and comes in three sizes. The cowl can be knit in two lengths – small as shown or large for wrapping twice. The set is knit in Malabrigo’s fabulous Silky Merino in the Blackberry colorway – which inspired the name – Moracita means “little blackberry” in Spanish!

This is a good pattern for lace beginners as the lace is very simple and easy to memorize.

Skills needed include basic stitches such as knit, purl, knit two together, purl two together, slip slip knit and the central double decrease. Other skills used include working in the round and switching to dpns for the crown.

The pattern includes a chart as well as line by line instructions.

Yarn Requirements: 120-150 yards for the hat. 150 yards for the small cowl and 300 yards for the large cowl.
