Pattern is given in English and German, there are two files for download, one in English and one in German - the file name shows the language of the pattern.

The sock is knitted toe up with afterthought heel.

Most of the sock is in the stranded technique. You should be able to weave in strands in this technique.

There is no explanation for this technique included in the pattern! Please buy only if you are used to stranded two colour knitting!

You also should be used to knitting using charts, knitting in the round, k2tog and increases.

The pattern needs 2 colours of fingering weight sock yarn, 50 g each. For sizes bigger than 7 you will need a second ball of each colour. Don’t use sock yarn which includes bamboo, linen or other plant fibers. They don’t have enough elasticity. Use yarn which is made out of pure wool or a wool/polyamid (nylon) blend with at least 75% wool.

Ravelry member Plim designed a heel flap heel for the lizard socks and gives instructions for it in her projects. It is the heel shown in the pictures of the red fire lizard. You can find the instruction for this heel here.

Please note, that this heel is not given within the pattern, it is Plim’s heel construction and I find it fits the lizard design very well.
