For these socks, I took the Jack-in-the-Pulpit motif from Barbara Walker’s A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns and modified it to be worked in the round. When worked in top-down socks, it reminds me of tiny skulls, little ghosts, or possibly Darth Vader’s mask.
