Petronela is a shawl that will keep you warm and cozy in winter months and if you decide to knit it in a vivid colour - it will also brighten up gloomy days.

You can knit it as a separate item or make a set with a matching hat and mittens or fingerless mitts.

All the patterns are included in the Petronela set ebook.

Each of the items of the set features the same pattern element - the cable, and each can be done either in the same or in different yarns. What’s important while knitting the hat and mitts is the gauge, choose yarn that meets it to avoid problems with size. If you choose to knit the hat in different yarn than the shawl – you can add a pompom in the colour of the shawl.

The shawl is easy to knit if you know some basic lace stitches – increasing, decreasing and yarnovers. It is also fun to knit, a perfect combination of needing to pay attention and mindless knitting.

The pattern could be customized by using different yarns, needle sizes, or adding repeats to the pattern in both length and width.

Yarn – Any ranging from fingering to DK. I used 330g / 900m / 985 yards of Lithuanian Vernitas (DK, 50g = 133m / 145 yards) on US 6 / 4mm needles to obtain a shawl that measures 168 x 56 cm (66 x 22 inches) blocked.

Gauge is not crucial and depends on the yarn and needles you choose to knit with, my gauge was 17 sts x 20 rows = 10x10cm / 4x4 inches.

Petronela to ciepły szal na zimne dni. Jeśli dodatkowo zostanie zrobiony w konkretnym, intensywnym kolorze – będzie grzał i ciało, i ducha!

Wszystkie cztery wzory tworzą ebook - Petronela set.
