Where I come from, the pines are high and thin. Their trunks are reddish and in certain light seems golden. The ground under the trees is full of lichen, moss and twigs. I love all the forest, but standing under the pines and listening to the wind in their branches is particularly calming.

These fingering weight socks are knit toe up with a Fleegle heel. Pino pattern decorates the instep and leg. Sewn bind off finishes the cuff. The instructions are written for the Magic Loop method.

Needles
2.25 mm (US 1) – 100 cm / 40” circular needles, or as required to obtain gauge.

Yarn requirements
Quince & co Starling (75 % superwash Merino, 25 % recycled polyamide, 200 m / 50 g).
2 (2, 3) 3 skeins or 265 (350, 440) 530 m / 290 (380, 485) 580 yds of fingering weight yarn.
Shown in color Walnut.
Please note that any changes made to the leg or foot length will affect the amount of yarn needed.

Gauge
36 sts x 48 rnds = 10 cm /4” with 2.25 mm (US 1) needles in Pino pattern in the round after blocking.
The cabled pattern has only a little stretch in it, take time to swatch carefully.
