Texture and rustic yarn - what more can I say?

This design is something special for my visit to A Verb For Keeping Warm next weekend, so I wanted to do something that would showcase their lovely Pioneer yarn, of which I had a skein in stash already.

I paired my Pioneer with this motif, featuring both positive and negative spaces that made the quality of the 100% organic wool just pop! This fitted beanie features ribs that play off of each other and lead into the main texture. A simple gathered crown in reverse stockinette adds a final element to the layers here, while keeping things simple. And the Pioneer looks great in the whole thing. It’s round and soft with the right amount of give for an everyday hat.

The design is easily modified for depth or width, and the motif is a simple one - both charted and written. You could whip out 3 or 4 of these in plenty of time for the holidays!

Color shown - Tempranillo
