This digital download crochet pattern gives you all the instructions you need to make the Porter Valley Hat. The pattern comes in two different versions so you can make both beanie and slouchy styles. Both versions look great, either made with the same shade of yarn throughout, or with a contrasting brim.

The Porter Valley is part of a beautiful park in Sheffield, North England, close to where I grew up. It follows a rushing stream that runs from the remote Peak District National Park and snakes its way almost to the heart of the city. I have many happy childhood memories of climbing, biking and roller-skating my way up and down the valley under endless canopies of trees. I hope you will enjoy making Porter Valley hats for the special children you know, to keep them snug and warm on their own outdoor adventures, wherever they may be :-)

The Porter Valley Hat crochet pattern is written in U.S. crochet terms, but with a conversion table giving the equivalent UK terms too.

This is a one-size pattern, designed to fit children.
