Hello and welcome! This is the pattern for the Queen of Thorns MKAL 2016! This is the 4th annual GoT Mystery Knit Along with Marinade Designs and Jimmy Beans Wool, inspired by my favorite book series-turned-tv series (Can you guess which one? Shhh! I’m not allowed to say it here! It’s the MKAL that must not be named! Oops, wrong book series!) :)

MKAL Yarn kits in the special Lorna’s Laces Limited Edition String Quintet Set “Queen of Thorns” Color + 1 extra Staccato Mini Skein, are available only from Jimmy Beans Wool starting on 3/31/16! And don’t forget to snag some matching Spark Stitch Markers created especially for this MKAL!

Purchasing this pattern ensures you will receive each of the 5 clues via your Ravelry Library or Email on the dates below.

After the MKAL is complete, the final version of the pattern will be provided and the price will go up to $7, so be sure to snag it now to lock in the promotional MKAL price!

MKAL Dates:
Sun - April 24th: Clue 1
Sun. - May 1st: Clue 2
Sun. - May 8th: Clue 3
Sun. – May 15th: Clue 4
Sun. – May 22nd: Clue 5
Sun. – June 26th: Final Wrap up/Show and Tell on Ravelry!

Contest:
This year I am offering some fun prizes to everyone who finishes and shares a pic of their FO in the Ravelry Group. Everyone who submits a final FO by June 26th will have their name entered into a random drawing to win 1 of 3 prizes (Gorgeous hand-dyed yarn and patterns!)

Materials:
-1 Lorna’s Laces String Quintet (125g/525 yds) – in Queen of Thorns Color
-1 Lorna’s Laces Staccato (25g/107yds) – in Pewter (as shown), Grasshopper, Briquette, Pine, or Waistcoat.
-US 4 – 40” circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge)
-Stitch markers (optional, but helpful)
-Tapestry needle

If you choose not to use the recommended yarn, you will need at least 100 yds each of 4 different colors A, B, C, and D, and 200 yds of a color E. This is bare minimum yardage. You should aim for a little more to account for any gauge differences.

Level:
This project is considered an intermediate level project. There will be some simple lace, but not super complicated. If a chart is required for a portion of the pattern, written instructions will accompany it.

MKAL To-dos:
-Be sure to join in the MKAL discussion for help and chat over in the Jimmy Beans Wool Group!

-Swatch for gauge to the gauge given in the info sheet with this pattern. You can download this immediately upon purchasing the pattern.

-Begin your project page here on Ravelry to chronicle your progress.

-Wait (not so) patiently for the MKAL and the show to start! Any guesses what your favorite characters will be up to this season?!?!?
