I live in Cardiff on the South Wales coast, on top of a hill with a view over the Bristol Channel. The prevailing winds come straight up the Bristol Channel and against my house, or so it seems! Wales is also known for its regular rain, and that, combined with the south westerly winds, makes for rain that looks like it’s coming in sideways! This stitch pattern reminded me of the way the rain looks outside my window. I designed these mitts to go with the matching Raining Sideways hat. They are snug fingerless mitts with a half thumb, intended to hug your fingers and thumb and keep out draughts!
