Sizes given are finished dimensions. You’ll need 7 (8, 8, 9, 9, 10, 11, 11, 12, 13, 13, 14) hanks of the recommended yarn for the different sizes; shown in color “Moraine”.

This cardigan is exceptionally comfortable, and I think it represents the best of what drop-shoulder sweaters can be: The fit exactly like what I was knitting 20 years ago, but the materials and some slight waist shaping on the back turn it into a much more pleasurable garment to knit and wear.

I chose an alpaca-silk-wool blend for this garment, with muted, neutral colors and a slightly nubby texture. The fit should be generous, but not exaggerated - I recommend choosing a size with around 4’’ (10 cm) of ease.
