Inspired by the hero of the poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, this wrap is knit from one end to the other. It uses a provisional crochet cast on and a knit on edging to make binding off easy and no seaming!

You will need to understand how to work basic lace patterns, how to do a provisional crochet cast on and how to work a knit on edging.

Sir Gawain was originally made using Knit Picks Palette in Autumn Heather. As Sir Gawain’s colors are red-- and this wrap is inspired by him-- I do suggest making the pattern in red yarn.

The PDF comes with some written instructions and charts for the stitch patterns. It also includes a very small “essay” about the inspiration for the pattern.

Update 1: Changed the edging stitches. The original edging stitches work fine too, but pattern was intended to have the “new” edging stitches.
