This hat pattern is the same as the Oversized Hat in my book, Positively Crochet. I am showing a different version of this hat, since it can be worn 2 ways. The version shown here (and also in the book as an alternate way to wear it) is worn as a “snood”, as they were called in the 50’s, & 60’s. People with dreadlocks love this style because they can put their dreads up inside the hat. You can make the hat smaller, by crocheting less rows.

Make the hat fuller by adding more rows or smaller by adding less rows. This hat is long enough to be rolled up at the front as in picture at right. This is an easy, beginner project.
