In Tchaikovsky’s lyrical and heart-wrenching opera, Eugene Onegin, the young Tatiana is spending the autumn on her family’s country estate. While there, she meets and falls in love with the mysterious visitor, Onegin.

It is during this period that she can be found wearing a lacy capelet to cover her shoulders against the chill of the evening. It is her adornment as she writes her passionate love letter to Onegin. The fateful letter that the vain and fickle Onegin does not appreciate and he loses her forever.

Worked from the neck down, this capelet can be knit with or without the funnel neck. Work the main chart for the main body once for an abbreviated version of this piece. Work it one additional time for a longer cape.
