Pattern description from One Skein: “Forget bulky bags and purses - this felted clutch is big enough to carry the essentials without getting in the way. It is knitted in the round with bulky yarn, then felted down to a compact size. An assortment of buttons - I used a mixture of vintage and modern ones - gives it a unique personality. Short on buttons? Check out antique or thrift stores for unusual finds, or see page 124 for my favorite sources.”

Finished Size: About 13” (33 cm) wide and 10.75” (27.5 cm) tall before felting; 10” (25.5 cm) wide and 6.27” (16 cm) tall after felting.

Yarn:

  • Chunky-weight (CYCA Bulky #5) yarn.
  • Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride Bulky (85% wool, 15% mohair; 125 yd 114 m/4 oz 114 g): #102 orchid twist.

Needles:

  • Size 15 (10 mm): 24” (60-cm) circular (cir).
  • Change needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Stitch marker (m); tapestry needle; 18 buttons (9 for each side) ranging in size from 3/8” (1 cm) to 0.5” (1.3 cm); sewing needle and matching thread (for attaching buttons).
