This pattern is an adaptation of the original doily pattern designed by Christine Duchrow from THE KNITTED LACE OF CHRISTINE DUCHROW, V-III, permission for reprint usage courtesy of Lacis Publications.

The Egeblad doily and table center has been enjoyed for many years and still remains very popular within knit-alongs and by individuals enthralled with the gratification received from knitting circular lace beauties. This pattern will give you the option of sizing and adjustment with two extensions so that your project can become a tablecloth, blanket or shawl while maintaining the delicacy of the original pattern. It is a written pattern and not yet charted.

As with most circular projects, the needle and yarn size will determine gauge and finished diameter. The photo above was knitted using size 4(US) needles and 3/2 mercerized cotton. The featured project measures 66” in diameter, using both extensions. The Egeblad is easily completed with instructions which provide for radius increase giving it exceptional blocking capability.

I hope you’ll enjoy this project as much as I have and will be pleased at how rapidly it is completed.
