Treya's Treasure Blanket
The crosshatch stitch pattern has always been one of my favorites for baby blankets because it is very quick to work up and creates a more interesting crocheted fabric. When working with “ombre” or multicolored yarns, a neat pattern often arises as the diagonal 3-dc shells are formed. A few of the beginning crocheters who made several afghans for our first Remembering Rowan Project donation in 2009 tried this pattern after they got tired of plain double crochets.
