Wellington the Elephant is snuggly and cuddly in his striped sweater. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the elephant is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). This pattern incorporates picking up stitches, and a three needle join.

NEEDLES
Two pairs of 3.5mm straight single pointed knitting needles (US 4).

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour.

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, toy safety eyes, and circular needle for holding live stitches.

SIZES
One size only - 22cm tall.

TECHNIQUES
For intermediate knitters and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, knitting stripes, and seaming to finish.
