This scarf is a simple lace edged, symmetrical and gradually sloped garter stitch triangle or trapezoid -- your choice of shape. Whether you make a triangle or trapezoid will depend on your desired width and length. You make this choice as you knit, so there is no need to swatch !!

The scarf can be made in virtually any weight yarn. Just use needles that are appropriately sized for the yarn you select or, if you tend to knit tightly, a bit larger so that your finished scarf will drape.

Yardage depends on the weight of your yarn and the size of your scarf. Samples have been knit as follows:

Fingering 6.5” x 55” -- 350 yards
DK 8” x 66” -- 393 yards
Worsted 8.5” x 68” -- 318 yards
Bulky 8.5” x 70” -- 259 yards

The pattern is written but there are also diagrams illustrating the two shapes (triangle and trapezoid).

There is an error in Row 17 of Section C. It should read: Sl 1, K to two stitches before marker, K2tog, SM, K 1, YO twice, K2tog, K 1
