This is a commission piece for some friends. They wanted a set of my Viking dolls, specifically a Thor. Meaning they wanted the male Viking to have red hair and beard.
They didn’t actually say that they wanted Sif as the female, I just decided to call her such. Especially since she will have long blonde hair and is Thor’s wife to begin with.
Personal notes below.

Down to the wire! Completed Sif just today and we are going to see the people this is a commission for in just an hour or so.
Had to get some pictures, even though I don’t quite like the lighting right now. Really wish I had a better camera. Will add more pictures once I get them cropped and color corrected (since they didn’t come out too great as they were).
Anyway, Sif is done. Thank goodness. Completed her in a relatively few hours. She’s shorter than Gudrid, which I am not completely happy with as Gudrid is a good height, but since Thor is shorter it works fine as a set.
Her neck bugs me a bit. Note: Do not add an extra row from the neck on the body. It is not needed for the female doll.
Hair came out much better, Part was much better, too. Also, added a few stitches to keep the braid down on the head.
Beads were alright for the apron. Next time I need to make the apron strap have a hole to go around the bead rather than attaching the apron straps to the apron on both sides and sewing the bead on. 15+ bead per drape work well for the apron.
For the dress I messed up the first time and learned only to do 2dc per stitch for the first two rows only. Then 1dc and 2dc ever other stitch otherwise the dress turns out too ruffly. For a ruffly dress, the other would be good.
Something I need to remember is to always make arms and body first before completing dress unless I’m certain I have enough yarn!

Finished Thor today. I am very pleased with him. He is a bit smaller than my original Viking man, Sigurd, but is crochet more tightly and is counted out more regularly (since I was pattern checking) and I feel he looks a little better.
His beard is a little more… intense than Sigurd’s. But Sigurd’s was done with fingering weight so it isn’t surprising since Thor’s was done with worsted. Had initial issues frizzing Thor’s beard. Had to use the blunt end of a yarn needle to separate the strands.
Did the hair in a slightly different manner. Double stitched the hair part and then stitched portions of the hair under the top layer to prevent it from all flipping up like it will with Sigurd. Think this works better.
Will start Sif next.
