I loved the stitch pattern Anna Sudo used in her Apis Dorsata (Knitty) from the first moment I saw it. I love how it builds organically.

I also knew that I wanted this sweater to have texture with a purpose.

So I played and swatched using Anna’s charts, learning how she worked each element so that it flowed into the next.

And then applied it to this sweater. Flowing asymmetrically across the body, drawing the eye across and up. The pattern on the arms starts just below the elbow, drawing attention to the narrowest part of my waist. With a touch of texture on my right wrist. Because I like to look at it. :)

This is the first of (I hope) many pullovers that will eventually replace the long sleeved t-shirts I live in all winter.
