Rich in texture and visual interest, this cozy cowl features a simple shell stitch pattern accented with angled post stitches to create the illusion of a textured overlay. A bobbled edging adds a touch of quirky character.
Crochet: Cowl
The Quercus Cowl is an ode to the various stately native oaks that grace the landscape of the southern Santa Clara Valley. Relief stitches and eyelets evoke leaves, acorns, and bright sunlight peeking through.
Crochet: Skirt
Originally published in Interweave Crochet Summer 2018 as the Ever-New Skirt, this updated self-published version has an expanded size range, fit and customization tips, larger font, and an airier, simpler variation on the main design (shown in the Beige version pictured here).
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
Inspired by pebbles, rippled sand, sun, and sea, this textured, C-shaped shawl features airy, open-stitch rows alternating with denser shell and pillowy puff-stitch rows for comforting warmth.

Kits of the pattern with the yarn (Butter Single or Butter Sock) are available for purchase from Seismic Yarn & Dyeworks here. Kits are for the one-skein cowl; add an additional skein for the size 1 stole or two additional skeins for the size 2 stole.
Crochet: Sleeveless Top
Verbena is a lacy, wide-neck tunic with a subtle open stitch detail at the front neckline and shoulder join. You can layer it over a tank, camisole, or sleeveless dress — or size it up for a beach cover-up. With its simple construction and use of only basic stitches and their variations, it’s an easy beginner garment.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
Waterspout is an airy, rectangular stole featuring chains, short stitches, and negative space. While it was designed in a sport-weight yarn, other weights of yarn can be substituted.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
Arakhne is a one-skein, semicircular shawlette featuring chains, short stitches, and negative space. More “capelet” than crescent wrap, it’s designed to rest over the shoulders without wrapping or pinning.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
Aqua Tide is a long and narrow asymmetrical triangle wrap featuring a light and airy, wavy shell stitch pattern and a slightly rippled fabric. It’s finished with a simple chain-stitch edging and border. The wrap is reversible; the two sides are distinctly different, but “right” and “wrong” sides are a matter of preference.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
Teal Tide is a shallow, semicircular shawlette featuring lacy shells, chains, and fans. It’s finished with a delicate beaded edging (beads are optional) and a chain-stitch border.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
Vee Times Three is a light and airy asymmetrical triangle wrap with a narrow solid section followed by a V-mesh upper portion and finished with a slightly-fanned and delicate edging.

November 2021 ~ I’ve updated the pattern to include specific instructions and gauge for a fingering-weight version (shown in the last photo), which is also easily customizable to any size.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
This is a light and airy wrap with a rippled texture, featuring open lace accented with “ribbons” of more solid stitches. Wear it simply as an elegant day-to-evening stole, or wrap it around your neck for a fun, colorblocked scarf.
