My “Save What You Love” shawl is a visual illustration of how our favorite science fiction universe treats the concepts of light, dark, and balance. The shawl explores how “light” and “dark, “good” and “bad” are just spectrums of a balanced whole.

The reaction of matter and antimatter is what propels a starship to faster-than-light speeds in popular science fiction. My hat was inspired by this concept, and uses the “reaction” of multidirectional knitting to showcase handpainted yarns. Since the pattern has three distinct sections, a variety of colors or miniskeins could also be used.
