The Susannah Cowl is a combination of two of my favorite shawl patterns; Odetta and Detta. Do you recognize the names? Odetta and Detta are two personalities in the Stephen King series “The Gunslinger. In the story, they eventually merge into Susannah so I thought it fitting that a cowl combining these two designs should be called Susannah too.

I was asked by Rich Hill Yarns and Dances with Wool to create a cowl pattern for their 2020 Holiday mini skeins and more Surprise Box. I love a good challenge and I had fun playing with swatches figuring out how to create a pattern that would be easy enough for a beginner and fun for a seasoned knitter.

Persephone is the DK version of the Ilse Sock Set Cowl. Both use Fibonacci stripes to blend colors. Where Ilse uses a sock set (100+20g) of fingering, Persephone uses two skeins of your favorite DK weight yarn with plenty left for another small project.
