Adorn is a collection of knitted jewelry designs by Laura Nelkin.

Adorn Anew contains 10 knitted patterns that are designed to help build your beaded knitting skills. many of them are designed to help you use up your leftover bits of yarn and beads! Originally a serialized e-book, new pattern(s) were released at the beginning of every month from May through December 2012. As with Adorn, my first knitted jewelry e-book, video tutorial links are included to help you with any tricksy bits.

The Iota Collection was inspired by a stitch I developed in Spring of 2011. As I played more and more with the stitch I realized how much I liked it flat, in the round, in bulky yarn, in fingering weight… I decided to explore it further and ended up writing three patterns that would allow me to do this! The collection contains the Iota Cowl and Scarf, Iota Capelet, and the Iota Sweater. Each of these patterns is available individually for $6, or you can purchase the collection for $12, at a significant savings.

Worked from the top down, with crescent shaping, this shawl design works perfectly with hand dyed ombre yarns like Nightfall by Fibro Fibers which has a gradient that spans the entire length of the skein.

Batana is all about getting to use those special buttons you have in your stash! I don’t know about you, but I hoard unique buttons, and then never have anything to do with them… this scarflette with it’s shaped lace border and garter stitch body is the perfect solution!

Designed to coordinate with my Mica Mitts, Mica Tam combines the twisted rib stitch with a beaded variation of feather and fan. The tam is worked from the brim to the top and is designed with just the right amount of “slouch”!

Medallion is worked in two halves and grafted at the center. The bottom edge creates gentle scallops that provide anchor points for the clasps. Beads slipped up at the sides of the wrong side rows accentuate the edging and beaded yarnovers add a bit of sparkle to your knitted wardrobe. Medallion is also July’s pattern in Adorn Anew.

Designed to match the Trio Necklace the Trio Earrings have three miniature swags of beads that hang gracefully from stacked yarnovers. These earrings will only take you an hour to make and are a MOST appreciated gift!

Inspired by the Butin Collar, Trio is constructed from the bottom edge inwards with three balanced swags of beads. Short rows are worked to widen the center front of the necklace and allow it taper gracefully at the back of the neck.

Mudra Necklace is created by taking an I-cord that has beads slipped up in between the cord’s stitches and hooking it through a pendant with a half hitch knot. The beaded sections have smaller size 8 beads surrounding a larger size 6 bead. There are kits available for Mudra as well!

Spumante is worked from the bottom up, it begins with a beaded lace border and then is shaped with simple garter stitch short rows. Accola is the main teaching tool I use in my Craftsy class Knitting with Beads… as with many of my shawl patterns, it is written for both lace and fingering weight yarns, AND in two sizes.

Pioneer Cuff is a simple lace cuff knit in either lace, light fingering or fingering weight yarn that incorporates both pre-strung beads that are slipped in between stitches and larger beads that are placed on stitches with super floss or a crochet hook. This elegant necklace and cuff set gives you a chance to learn some new skills while you find a reason to use up that leftover sock yarn.

Kinetik is a based on a chevron beaded lace stitch and is created by working two separate triangles and then joining them together with a center panel. There are detailed instructions for working Kinetik with A LOT, SOME or NO beads. The pattern includes links to videos for made especially for helping with the tricksy bits of this design.

Helleborus is a Scarf and Cuff set based on a simple eyelet lace that incorporates beads into the yarnovers.

Iota Capelet is a top-down seamless reverse stockinette stitch cape that incorporates increases into the vertical ribbing. It begins with the Iota Stitch worked in the round to create a cowl neck and then then is worked down. It is easily modified to be longer and/or wider! Available as part of the Iota Collection, or individually.

Written for three different weights of yarn, this pattern explores working the Iota Stitch both flat and in the round. I love how this stitch morphs as it is worked in fingering, DK and bulk weight yarns! Available as part of the Iota Collection, or individually!

Iota is a top-down seamless yoke sweater. It begins with the Iota Stitch worked around to create a mock turtle neck. The yoke grows as you work increases in between the stitch motifs. The rest of the sweater is then knit in reverse stockinette stitch with optional waist shaping. Available as part of the Iota Collection, or individually.

Supplies

Rippled is a lightweight lace ruffle to adorn your neck. It is constructed by ten rows of garter stitch with beads placed at intervals for pools of shine. Finished off with a fringe bead bind off and i-cords for easily adjustable length. It’s another necklace you can make in a night! (and yes, there are kits available)

Selata is worked from the top down, with increases placed so that a squared off bottom hem emerges. To this edge I added a lacy ruffle and to that an optional beaded lace bind off! You can work Selata either in one color, or two as I have done. The pattern is written in two sizes, and includes detailed yardage information for both versions.

With a donut as a focal point, this beaded i-cord necklace explores the elegant simplicity of knitted jewelry. Worked from the bottom up, the cast on is wrapped around the donut integrating it seamlessly into the design.

August’s Adorn design, Butin Earring, was designed to complement June’s pattern Butin Collar. The earrings are based on FOUR stitches of knitting, with beads slipped up into a delicate swag.

Clarus is worked top down and is constructed of 2 triangles separated by a center panel. The pattern is written in two different sizes, for two different weight yarns… possibilities abound!

This is the crochet version of Butin Collar. I had many requests to write it up for crochet….. so I did!

Skywalker is a semi-circular shawl, worked from the top down. You start with 9 stitches picked up around a garter stitch rectangle, and work out with increase rows loosely based on Elizabeth Zimmermann’s Pi-Shawl formula.

Thrice is based on an attached beaded I-Cord stitch I envisioned one day in a class with Cat Bordhi…. this stitch is utterly customizable, so play around with it! You get to choose how wide you want your thrice, how many colors it should have, AND where you want to wear it. How fun is that????? I’ve worked it up as a delicate bracele...
