I wrote this up because the head lactation consultant where I went for breastfeeding support while nursing my son asked for knitted breasts for teaching aids.

Here is a simple, heart-shaped shawlette without any fancy elements to show off the colors of the yarn.
Knitting: Costume
Fun reversible braid that can be made any length. Sew it into a headband. Coil it into a hat. Can be used for a Halloween costume accessory, belt, bag handles, etc.

I wrote this for a 2hr toe-up sock class. Prior knowledge of magic loop knitting is helpful and using a circular needle is recommended. You will end up with a small sock that can be used as a keychain or even a swatch for a larger project.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Really, this is a customizable top-down hat pattern for any yarn & any gauge. No provisional cast on, but this pattern assumes you already know how to do magic-loop knitting.
Crochet: Costume
This is worked bottom up with the brim worked last (through the foundation chain).
Crochet: Christmas Stocking
Any heavy worsted weight acrylic would be fine for this. The cuff can be anything bulky, soft and fluffy.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Written for three sizes with formulas included for calculating a custom-fit sock. You can work this pattern with two alternating colors, variegated, or semi-solid yarn. The cable design is charted and symmetrical so can be used for cuff-down socks as well (cuff-down instructions not included).

This chart can be used to add a slip-stitch cable owl motif to any knitting project. Alternating working yarn color every row will produce the effect seen in the sample pic. Garter Stitch gauge: 4 sts/in & 3.5 garter ridges/inch

Any needle, yarn, and gauge should work…choose your own size.
