Knitting: Vest
Standard fitting vest with slight waist shaping is shaped with short rows to achieve asymmetrical shape. Contrasting color and pattern border is knitted and sewn on after vest is sewn together. This is a great pattern to show off that gorgeous shawl pin purchased at the last fiber festival!
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
I just binge-watched Outlander Season 1 and was struck by the knitted shawls worn by Clare. Perhaps for a special occasion she would wear a shawl like this. I also had a dear friend, Clare, who was often chilled when we sat and talked, whether the air conditioning or heat was pumping. Perhaps this shawl would be appreciated by the Clare in your...
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Inspired by the swirl inside a seashell found on the beach, these colorful toe up socks are quickly knit in fair isle pattern, using two contrasting yarn colors. This is a fun introduction to fair isle work and to working a four point star toe, which is comfortable when wearing shoes.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Inspired by the phrase in the Beatles’ song, “the long and winding road…”, these cable knit fingerless mitts are quick to knit for the texter or Instagrammer in your life.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
This top down sock both shows off and minimizes pooling that sometimes occurs with hand dyed variegated yarns. The colors remind me of party confetti and streamers. Knit a party for your feet! This yarn is a dream to work with and knits up into a soft, durable sock.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Inspired by a visit to a butterfly garden, these toe up lace socks reflect the journey from a chrysalis to a butterfly seeking flight. Lace patterns are both written and charted for women’s sizes 5-11.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Inspired by snowdrops blooming in Nana’s garden, these cuff-down socks are quick to knit, with an easily memorized pattern. These socks include a heel flap, gusset, and directions for reinforcing the heel turn to minimize wear.
Knitting: Sleeveless Top
This pattern is a light lace spring top with peplum, to wear with shorts, capris or a skirt for a simple summer dinner or brunch. A great accessory for spring or summer, this piece can be layered over a basic camisole or tank. Dress it up for a wedding reception with strappy sandals and dangling earrings.
Knitting: Cowl
Reversible infinity cowl may be worn as a scarf, wrapped around the neck or around the head and neck. Thickly textured, it chases away the fiercest wind and cold. Knitted in bulky yarn, this is a quick, make-it-in-a-weekend gift for a friend, loved one or for yourself.
Knitting: Cowl
This textured cowl is fun to knit and a good introduction to slip stitch and basketweave patterns. The project was knit with a handspun yarn (sorry, I don’t remember the spinner’s name or contact information). Any heavy worsted weight would work. Gauge is not critical.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
This knits up quickly for a last minute gift. Three stitch markers and darning needle also helpful. I knit these in the round on a 16” circular needle. Double point needles best for thumb work.
