Knit your own life-size flute!

Inspired by photos found on the Woolly Thoughts group, this pattern enables you to crochet your very own geometrical curiosity, a hyperbolic plane designed to resemble a farmyard animal.

Haven’t you always wanted a miniature knitted clarinet?!

“Impish” is a snug-fitting, surprisingly quick-to-knit cowl comprising columns of twisted stitches and zig-zags of travelling stitches against a background of reverse stocking stitch. Perfect for using up odd leftovers of sock yarn!

This effective pattern is sure to impress chemists and knitters alike! Stranded knitting worked in the round means there is very little purling involved, and the contrast facing creates a smooth inside layer to sit against your neck. The multiple layers of yarn make this an exceptionally warm and cosy garment.

I developed this design to match the Roads End Sweater by Kay Hopkins, but of course it works equally well on its own. You can choose to use one, two or three colours from your worsted or aran weight yarn stash.
