This hat is a very special hat. My incredible daughter-in-law was just diagnosed with a particularly aggressive form of stomach cancer. Their four children and I decided she should have very COOL hats to keep her head warm while she undergoes chemo treatment. As their Nana and owner of a yarn shop, I promised I would design a very special hat j...

Knitting: Beanie, Toque
The Forever Heart Hat is a very simple to knit hat and can easily be a beginner’s guide to colorwork. All of the colorwork is done in knit stitches with only two colors.
Knitting: Cowl
The Aspen Cowl is a fairly simple knit. It is knit in the round on a 24” cable. An Intermediate beginner knitter should be able to knit this cowl if they know how to knit in the round or if they can get a little help with that skill. There required skills are casting on, binding off, knit, and purl stitches.
Knitting: Cowl
Before this pattern gets any further along, credit must be given where credit is due. The stitch pattern was taken from the incredible book Sequence Knitting by Cecelia Campochiaro. Her book is completely amazing and one that should be in every knitter’s library!
Knitting: Decorative - Other
Gauge was provided but was not really considered when knitting the pumpkins since they are a novelty decorative item. However, that said, if your gauge is off considerably, you could easily run out of yarn before you complete all three pumpkins.
Knitting: Scarf
When I bought this skein of Madeline Tosh Sock Yarn, I didn’t have a project in mind for it so it sat in my stash for quite a long time. Then I ran across this lace stitch in one of my many stitch dictionaries and it reminded me of a waterfall. Then it clicked that this yarn was the perfect match and the Niagara Infinity Scarf was born. Don’t y...
Knitting: Cowl
Every year, I look for something I can knit quickly for holiday gifts that the recipients will not only like, but that they will actually use. Well this year, I think I hit the jackpot and I hope you do, too!
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
I love to knit lace! I do. But, I prefer to knit lace that doesn’t make my head hurt and by that I mean, I prefer that every other row is a resting row (no lace). This not only helps me breathe a little easier; it makes it easier to see and fix any mistakes I may have made on the previous row.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
The Cabled Lattice Wrap was designed for those cool Spring and Fall evenings when it’s not cool enough for a coat but it’s too cold to go without anything around your shoulder. It also works when someone in the house likes it a bit cooler than you do. You can wrap this around your shoulders and it will keep you a bit warmer.
Knitting: Cowl
One of the things that I most commonly hear that strikes terror in the heart of knitters and not just beginner knitters is the dreaded buttonhole. Well, they just aren’t that hard, but I promised in the title of this pattern that this is a NO Buttonhole Buttoned Cowl and I intend to keep that promise.
Knitting: Pillow / Cushion
This lovely cabled pillow is not for someone completely new to cables, but if you have successfully knit cables before and are looking for a new challenge, this would be a great pattern for you. The seaming is easy and there is no garment fitting to worry about.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
I absolutely love cables. I love knitting them, seeing them, wearing them, and sharing them. But this wrap wasn’t as easy to design as I thought it would be. I started over at least a half a dozen times before I was happy with the cable combinations. In the end, the result was repeating two cables one after the other. Sometimes simple is better...

The yarn overs create ...
Knitting: Cowl
The Lanny Cowl is a quick and easy knit. If you need a gift in a hurry, this is the pattern you are looking for. Made from double stranded worsted weight yarn (or a bulky yarn could work although you may need to adjust the number of rows needed to achieve the desired length), it not only knits up fast but will definitely keep the cold winter wi...

Knitting: Pullover
The Crossings Sweater is constructed Top Down and Seamless in the Round. Although it begins by working only the back, stitches for the front are then picked up from the cast on row from the back and when the bottom of the armhole is reached the sweater is knit in the round from that point. Sleeves are set in using short rows then knit in the ro...
