Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
In the fall of 2012 my husband, as a belated anniversary present, planned a weekend getaway for us near Woodstock, NY. We spent a night in a cute little cabin in the woods with a stream running just outside our window, and went to see Bob Dylan play at Bethel Woods, on the site of the original Woodstock Festival.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This knitted shawl starts with a provisional cast-on and combines the undulating waves of the Mermaid Mesh pattern from Barbara Walker with a lacy chevron pattern on either end. Using a provisional cast on allows the two end sections to be worked in opposite directions for symmetry.

Knitting: Baby Blanket
This rainbow colored baby blanket works up soft, squishy and fast in a chunky weight cotton blend yarn and mostly garter stitch! The fun color change sequence adds to the charm. I couldn’t resist the beautiful colors and feel of the Babe Soft Cotton Chunky yarn…but feel free to work this up in any bulky weight yarn you choose. (Note: if you dec...
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
I came up with this pattern for two reasons:
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
This is a simple stockinette stitch sock, knit from the top down on two circular needles, with a little twist stitch cable running down the side to keep it interesting.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
My curiosity often leads to me to lots of fun and interesting places in my knitting. This sock arose from my desire to figure out if the gusset decreases for a top-down sock could be put on the bottom of the foot. That’s the “adventurous” part for me - the gusset decreases run along the sides of the foot, along the bottom of the sock. This allo...
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
This is my own design for a toe-up baby sock on two circular needles. I have been using this in a toe-up sock class I teach at The Warm Ewe, in Chatham, NY.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
These are a fun, quick knit. They are worked in the round. directions are for double point needles, but can easily be adapted to 2 circs or Magic Loop.

Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
This is a simple and beautiful sock knit from the top down, good for any level of sock knitting experience. Pattern calls for 2 circular needles. Techniques include knit, purl, ssk (slip, slip, knit), k2tog. The herringbone pattern really “pops” with lighter solid color yarns.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
I’ve wanted to use this honeybee in a sock for a while now, and when I saw this beautiful golden yarn from madeline tosh I knew this was the one. The color of this yarn is just stunning and the Seed Stitch on the instep and leg really bring out the highlights in the yarn. It reminds me of golden honey in the sun. No wonder the bees are hovering...
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Where I live in Upstate New York, there is a twisting, turning back road I take to get to town. The twisted stitch cable that runs down the front and back of these socks remind me of that road that winds through the little town of Red Rock, and also of the stream that meanders through the woods on either side of the road.
