I started knitting in University when my sister-in-law was pregnant with my oldest niece. It was a great distraction from the stress of school. In the 25 years or so since then, knitting has followed me through many phases of life. Other hobbies and activities have come and gone, and knitting has stayed as both a refuge and a place for creativity.

My preference is for designing top down sweaters whenever I can. I love to be able to try on sweaters as I go, and make adjustments where needed. I have cut apart and grafted together many a sweater over the years to adjust the length, and love the flexibility that top down sweaters can offer. (They are also much better for yarn chicken!)

Otherwise, my design inspiration often comes from the yarn. I like to stare at a pile of yarn and think “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
