Happy Ramadan
As-Salamu Alaikum (Peace be upon you). I made these Mother and Daughter dolls to show my support to the Muslim community who are currently celebrating Ramadan.
Ramadan is held on the 9th month of the Islamic calendar from one crescent moon to the next. Ramadan is a holy month spent fasting from sunrise to sunset (even water) to remember those who are less fortunate. It is also spent meditating on the Quran and on prayer and community.
My Fingerprint Puppets are a nice option for those who don’t have beads or pipe cleaners to make my dolls. For a cute Ramadan lantern, check out my Acorn Lantern pattern.
I wish all my Muslim neighbors (especially in Minnesota) a Happy Ramadan. I also wish you justice, togetherness with family, peace and healing.
Supplies needed: 12 mm wooden beads, pipe cleaners, wire cutters for trimming pipe cleaners (optional).
