This design is inspired by a trip I took to Bergen and Copenhagen. One of my favorite things to do was to walk their cobbled streets and enjoy their colorful homes. They are also inspired by my FREE I Heart Greenland pattern (but with some updates to make it more knitter friendly).

These homes complete everything on my wish list!

• The main houses are knit in the round on dpns to save on fiddly seaming.
• The windows and doors are knit separately so there is no hard to position embroidery.
• They fit in the palm of your hand so are a relatively quick knit.
• The bottom is fully enclosed, but still lays flat so they are easy to display.
• You don’t need special yarn for the grass roof because you simply knot pieces of yarn to it.
• You can add as much embroidery as you wish. Back Stitch makes simple vines and French Knots pretty roses.

Skills needed
How to knit in the round on dpns (video included).
Ssk, k2togs, purling.
Yarn Over Bind-Off (video included).
Optional embroidery for flowers (video included).

Yarn
I knit mine in fingering, but a tester knit hers in worsted and size US6 needles and it just came out bigger. Although you may want to do your windows in fingering so they fit better.

Supplies
Fingering or desired sized yarn, set of 5 dpns in size US 2 or desired size, stuffing.
