Romeo Scarf
In celebration of the release of the Romeo Scarf, take 50% off until the end of day March 4th using the code Romeo! Thanks for your support, hope you enjoy!
The Romeo Scarf is the first in the Star-Crossed Lovers Collection—a design as timeless and adaptable as its namesake. Featuring classic cables worked into soothing garter stitch, this pattern blends beautiful texture with simple, relaxing knitting that’s perfect for beginners. True to the spirit of Romeo, it’s full of passion and possibility—written in three sizes (small, medium, and large) but easily adjustable to any length or width you prefer. Whether you want a sleek everyday piece or a cozy wrap, the Romeo Scarf is ready to fit your vision perfectly.
The Romeo Scarf is designed for DK weight yarn and 4.5 mm needles, but its flexible design lets you use anything from fingering to chunky yarn—it adapts beautifully to showcase your favorite fiber. Solid or softly tonal shades bring out the cable details best, while darker or heavily variegated colors may hide the texture. Gauge isn’t fussy, so you can simply relax and enjoy the knit.
You’ll begin with a simple cast-on and a short garter increase section that gently widens the fabric before flowing into an easy rhythm of cables and garter stitch. Best part, no cable needle required! The cables add subtle dimension without being complicated, while the garter sections lend softness and texture. Once you reach your preferred length, garter decreases taper the other end to a neat point for a balanced finish. A built-in faux I-cord edge frames the scarf as you go—no extra steps required.
Offered in three sizes (S, M, and L), the pattern is easy to customize. The stitch repeat is worked over a multiple of 3 stitches plus 5 stitches, so you can adjust the width, length, or yarn weight to create anything from a slim neck scarf to a full wrap.
Beginner-friendly and quick to knit, the Romeo Scarf has a soothing rhythm and elegant results. Step-by-step video tutorials walk you through every special technique, making this an easy, relaxing, and satisfying project for any skill level.
Please note that there is no exact yardage required for this pattern. The reason is because, obviously, everyone likes a different scarf length and I cannot accommodate all of that in the yardage. Same goes for the measurements, I have only included the length of my sample in the pattern. Please check out my test knitter’s lovely project pages where they show off the versatility of this pattern in all sorts of yarn and sizes! All sizes have been tested.
This pattern is 8 pages long, but there are only 4 pages of actual knitting instructions. Look at the pattern photos to find a sample page of the pattern!
