Collection One: Origins

Einfach Wiederholen is a collection of 6 knitting designs aimed to assist teachers and knitting courses from beginner to intermediate level. Various techniques are explored. Designs cover various types of projects such as cowl, hat, gloves, socks, sweater. Each pattern adds new skills gradually and can easily function as a standalone course. Sizes range from sample size to adult.

Put an end to curly hair frizz with this crochet towel. The smooth surface of the cotton & lyocell blend eliminates friction, while the crochet stitches provide a relaxed fabric that dries quickly between uses.

Schinhorn is a very simple and easy-to-make towel. It is worked top down making it possible to adjust its size from a small hand towel to a large body-sized towel.

Linaritis is a worsted-weight top-down sweater, worked seamlessly in the round. It features a wonderful textured lace yoke and short rows to shape the upper back for the perfect fit. The end result is both flattering and warm, due to its fitted, slightly cropped body and long, fitted sleeves.

There’s little that is more satisfying than crocheting bobbles; they are easy, they are fun and they look so cool. Trugberg is a modern design with a sleek round shape and regularly spaced bobble stitches. It is a great example of what crochet can offer: gorgeous 3D texture and a well defined shape. See how the upper yoke stands up?

Nadelhorn is a modern unisex design using basic crochet stitches and intelligent shaping to create a well-fitting beanie. It is very fast to make and it is designed to use up a single skein of Bulky yarn entirely. Time for some stash diving?

There’s something mesmerising about how variegated yarn works up in crochet. Colours blend in beautiful ways with minimal-to-no pooling. Lyskamm makes use of a multicolour super bulky wool yarn to create a soft, but quite dense textured fabric. The cowl is worked from the top down in the round.

Dammastock is a simple ribbing headband that is worked seamlessly and in rows. It is designed to accommodate different sizes by adjusting the tie of the i-cord edges. It can be worn in various styles. It makes use of most of a single skein of worsted, or aran weight of yarn.

Nesthorn is a simple pattern designed to make the most of one skein of fur yarn. It is worked seamlessly in the round from the top-down so it is easy to adjust the length according to available yardage, or by adding additional skeins.

A Beret for Spring is a beret that plays with texture and volume. It is a stylish hat that can accommodate those that have trouble putting on beanies due to curly and/or voluminous hair. I personally have that issue, where most beanies won’t stay on my head, unless they can also cover most of my hair. Comfy berets seem to solve that issue.

Rák is an exploration of color and stitch patterns. A combination of basic patterns, bringing solid and openwork together. It includes a novel way of incorporating vertical stripes seamlessly into the main body of work by playing with the direction of knitting.

Weissmies was born from the desire to create a cute cable headband that would be able to cover the ears from the cold, but not be too bulky. I also wanted to make it adjustable, in order to wear it in different ways, depending on the desired style (and weather!).

When I am working on large projects I always get a craving for a quick, bulky knit. Combine that with a spontaneous sale at a local yarn store and you get a new instant gratification project. And a new design!

Mottiposi is bag modelled after the figure of a moth. It utilises many different techniques to achieve the final result, such as felting, stranded colorwork, intarsia, i-cords, braiding and some seaming.

Hexaposi is a bag that was created by experimenting with hexagons and three-dimensional geometry. Playing around with different configurations, I ended up with a shape that can be used as a bag (as presented here) or if stuffed, as a toy, pillow, whatever you can think of!

For this year’s crochet lesson group, I wanted to create a design that would serve as a good exercise for working in the round, as well as with increases and decreases. Inspired by yarn I had at hand, I designed a round evening bag with a simple look but several decorative details.

There are plenty of garments that can make a good use of a belt either decoratively or practically. My problem usually is that I can’t find one that fits well and goes with most of my clothes in terms of design or color.

If you have ever tried any form of knitted colorwork, such as fair isle or intarsia, you know that managing all those different yarn strands can be an issue. Recently I came up with a new tool as a solution: a belt with pockets!

For this year’s crochet lesson group, I wanted to create a lace top that would have an easy-to-wear shape, be easy to customise and require minimal to no shaping when working each piece. That’s how I opted for square components. These components can be seamed in various ways and worked in different sizes to create different garment styles.

Ever since I created my first crochet bikini top, I envisioned a design that could be worked for any size. After a few years and testing on several people, I found a comfortable shape that can be used in various configurations. To complete the set, I also created a bikini bottom, that takes into account fuller behinds in it’s sizing.

Ein kleines rotes Herz is a small and cute heart appliqué. When worked twice and sewn together, a puffy stuffed heart can be formed. There are two sizes available.

After having a serious knee injury, I realised that knees should be taken care of, at all times. What best way to protect them than with a pair of knee warmers! A pair, that can also be used as boot toppers or short leg warmers.

The idea for this slouchy bulky hat came sometime in 2010, and if I remember correctly, I was inspired and influenced by the things I saw those days circulating in the internet. It’s one of my favorite hats, although some times it gets my hair messy.

A Beret for Summer is a perfect hat for summer weather. It is a slouchy beret worked in the round with basic crochet stitches.

This pattern is more about the motif, and less about the earrings themselves.
