My background and education are in apparel design with tons of custom sewing and alterations thrown in. I’ve only been knitting for about 5 years or so but have been addicted to it since my first cast on stitch. My first project was a scarf (imagine that!) and my second project was a lace and cable sweater out of Vogue Knitting…naive, I know. It took me a week just to learn how to read the pattern but I did it. Everyone asked me where I bought it…the greatest compliment any seamstress or knitter can get!! My main focus is really on fit and shape instead of texture right now because I believe if a sweater doesn’t flatter a figure, it doesn’t matter how beautiful the texture, it won’t look good.
