The patterns that I publish here on Ravelry are generally in English, but a bit of Swedish and Icelandic may occasionally show up.

What I do: Since 2008 I’m mainly design and teach Tunisian crochet, and have invented some own techniques to work Tunisian crochet in the round, in colours, in lace patterns, with cables, and so on. I like designing clothes with unusual details or features, and particularly like garments that can be worn in more than one way. It also does happen that I design knitted sweaters. During 2014-2016 I’ve also been busy with folkloric techniques, such as sewing, tapestry crochet, tablet weaving and leather work.

Book #1: In June 2010 I published the book “Tunisian crochet in Icelandic” with 20 patterns (plus variations) for men, women and children. The designs are simple and basic, a bit chunky, and the colours are mostly earth tones. All patterns are available in English in my Ravelry shop.

Book #2: In October 2011 I published the book “Tunisian crochet for leisure and pleasure” with 30 new patterns (plus variations). It contains new and improved technique, some new stitches, designs in both thinner and thicker yarn, patters clearly inspired by scifi, fantasy and fairytales, some items for the very smallest children, as well as more vivid colours. Sizes range from 2-14 years and XS-4X. English translations of all patterns and some of the instructions are available in my Ravelry shop.

Tunisian Crochet by Zein Design 2012: This is my collection of nine patterns in Tunisian crochet created during 2012. The style is similar to book #2. All patterns are available in English in my Ravelry shop.

Tunisian Crochet by Zein Design 2013: This is my collection of eleven patterns in Tunisian crochet created during 2013. My technique is developing further, new stitches are added, and more and more patterns contain short rows (mainly designs with plaited strips). All patterns are available in English in my Ravelry shop.

Tunisian Crochet by Zein Design 2014-2015: Six patterns for accessories have been published for this collection. There are two hats, two scarves, a shawl, and a pair of fingered mittens. All patterns are available in English in my Ravelry shop.

Other patterns: I’ve published a collection of knitted sweaters, called “Patrick Zein‘s Knitted Sweaters”, and a free collection of folkloric accessoires called “Tillbehör till Karleby mansdräkt”. I also have a folder with some assorted items, that don’t quite fit in the other collections, called “Patrick Hassel-Zein’s Odd Patterns”.
