FIREMAN FRED DOLL KNITTING PATTERNS
Fireman Fred is a little hero, fighting fires and rescuing cats from trees! With this pattern you can knit your own fireman, with his axe and hosepipe.
THE PATTERN INCLUDES: Row numbers for each step so you don’t lose your place, instructions for making the fireman, axe and hosepipe, 19 photos, a list of abbreviations and explanation of some techniques, a materials list and recommended yarns. The pattern is 7 pages and written in English.
TECHNIQUES: All pieces are knitted flat on straight knitting needles, apart from the hosepipe and axe handle which are i-cord tubes knitted on two DPNs. You will need to cast on and off, knit, purl, work increases and decreases, knit i-cord and sew seams. For colour-work, you will need to know how to knit stripes (i.e. change colour at the end of a row). This pattern incorporates a three-needle join, and step by step instructions with photos are included.
YARN, NEEDLES AND NOTIONS INCLUDE:
- Three straight 3.5mm knitting needles (US 4)
- Two 3.5mm DPNs (US 4)
- DK yarn (double knitting or light worsted weight); less than 50g in each colour
