Start with double pointed needles to work the center out in the round, then using interchangeable needles you can continue in the round and increase the cord sizes. When you have completed the part of the shrug that is worked in the round, bind off stitches on top, take one section of sleeve 2 and transfer to waste yarn, bind off stitches, then continue knitting straight across sleeve 1. When sleeve 1 is completed, bind off. Then transfer sts from waste yarn to needles to complete sleeve 2 (same as sleeve 1). Cinch with one or 2 stitches to fasten the sleeves, and wear as a shrug--fits most sizes with 1 skein.

STITCHES USED: Yo (yarn over), SSK (slip, slip, knit, a left slanted decrease of 1 st), M2 (knit through front and back of lifted bar between 2 sts that has been twisted to prevent hole)—an increase of 2 st
