Add a WOW factor to your wardrobe! Two rectangles joined together create this striking poncho. Although it may look difficult, this piece is not an advanced knit project. Working through the pattern step-by-step reveals a series of simple techniques that combine to create a complex garment.
Worked from the bottom up, a simple colorwork (charted) pattern is made more interesting by alternating bands of tone on tone color. The lighter shades are worked in Vermont Organic Balance, the darker shades are worked in Vermont Organic Classic.
Knitting: Coat / Jacket
The skirt of the jacket is worked first from side to side using short row shaping. Stitches are picked up for the bodice, and sleeves. The fronts are finished using a twisted float trim and i-cord ties, an optional mohair/silk scarf completes the look.
