The shawl is named after the “Lady of the Lake” from the Arthurian legend.

The shawl is knitted in two parts and starts from the centre.

I’m one of those girls how was always fascinated by spiders. So I put my love for spiders and knee high socks into one pattern. The lace pattern is easily memorized and just when knitting knee highs get’s a bit boring the calf is knitted with the large spider on it.

The name “Spaziergang im Garten” is german for “a walk in the garten”.

This pattern is born out of my love for stockings and leaves in knitting. The leaves patterns is the Drooping Elm Leaf pattern from Barbara Walker’s first Treasury of Knitting Patterns and the pattern for the calf is my own.
