Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This soccer hat is knit from the bottom upward with a charted “10” knit into a stockinette block strategically placed in the edge ribbing. (If you aren’t interested in knitting the 10 in intarsia, you could do duplicate stitch.) A thin pink stripe is situated just above the ribbing and at the crown of the hat for accent.
Knitting: Mittens
These children’s mittens are quick-to-knit due to the thick, homespun, 2-ply yarn (spun at 10 WPI).Each mitten will be unique. This gauge is perfect to keep the mittens from being cumbersome and too thick for comfort. These are so cozy and comfortable (as Jack says), your child will search for them for outdoor play.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This colorful hat uses 2 yarns held together (leftover sock yarn:) for the colorwork. A chart is included.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This 2-color hat is striking with the contrasting colors.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This adorable fair isle patterned hat has a pompom on top, 2 by 2 ribbing, and confetti colors. It is perfect for using up scraps of yarn in your favorite colors.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This hat is reminiscent of rugby jerseys with its stripes of team colors.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Parry Hotter Hat reminds me of a hat one would wear in a popular book series. This classic-looking textured hat is actually
Knitting: Tee
This sweet, warm weather top, knit in cotton/bamboo yarn, is comprised of 2 pieces (front and back) joined at the shoulders with a 3-needle bind off. The back has a rectangular opening. Textured garter stitch triangles complete the back opening at the top sides/shoulders and tie together with simple twisted cords. The front sports a small garte...

Knitting: Beanie, Toque
I wanted to make a teddy bear hat but couldn’t find a pattern that looked like a sweet bear. The ears on most patterns were pointed and looked like wolf ears, (not a good baby look in my mind). Other hats had ears that looked like cats. I decided to try my hand at something a bit sweeter. Because there’s nothing better than an adorable baby in ...
Knitting: Scarf
Skinny Scarf is knit mostly in garter stitch and is a skinny, long parallelogram with simple, lace stripes.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Child’s hat in 2 sizes (toddlers through 9 years old)
Knitting: Scarf
Bias knit, symmetric scarf/shawl with 2-row, easy, lace stripe strategically inserted throughout and on finishing edge. Small knit bobbles complete the lace edge and can be blocked (for crisp definition) or left “au naturel” (for a bohemian look).
Knitting: Scarf
Have leftover sock yarn? Use it for the contrasting lace or bobbles in this sumptuous scarf.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
This textured, square baby blanket is perfect for swaddling baby, tummy time, or strolls. The larger size makes a nice cuddle blanket when baby transitions to toddler.
Knitting: Cardigan
This tailored cardi has 7 of my favorite design features:
Knitting: Convertible Gloves
These flip-top gloves/mittens are perfect for texting because the thumb can also be fingertip free by popping it out of a small hole. (And it’s easy to pop back in.) Quick-to-knit/easy-to-assemble, I chose yarn that did most of the colorwork for me… even those cute little rings on alternating fingers. But these are also a great way to get artis...
Knitting: Convertible Gloves
These flip top mittens can be worn as fingerless or full mittens. The polar bear hides when worn as fingerless but appears when worn as mittens. (The face is visible by the wearer and the buttons don’t scratch touched items.)
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
These tightly knit fingerless gloves were designed for fly fishermen to keep the water out, hands warm, and fingers free. They should be made out of wool so if they do go in the water, they will still keep the hands warm. (The lanolin in the wool also helps them resist getting wet when splashed.)
Knitting: Baby Blanket
Guppy has soft, cute, irregular curves at both ends. It is composed of these stitches: seed stitch, cables, ribs, double zigzags, knits, and purls. Both written instructions and charts are included but once the patterns are established, neither are needed because this is a highly visual design. (If you have made a Grasshopper, you know what I m...
Knitting: Baby Blanket
This 26 by 30 inch baby blanket is a delight to make because the design is quick-to-learn and easily completed without directions (once the patterns have been established). It can be enlarged with minimal effort and replicated in thicker yarn for an adult-sized lapwarmer or blanket. Choose a favorite crayon color for a delightful baby blanket t...
