Knitting: Scarf
This two-colour garter stitch scarf is a great project for beginner knitters wanting to challenge themselves with a few new techniques. Constructed like a shallow triangle shawl, the repetitive four row pattern becomes easily memorized, making it a fun, relaxing knit for any skill level.
Knitting: Poncho
A simple yet stylish one size poncho that pairs a nubby, textured yarn with a light and airy single with a long shifty colour run. Garter stitch bands reminiscent of tiny rows of pebbles are flanked by 2 rows of stocking stitch in the single ply yarn. Top this beauty off with an ample cowl neck collar and you have a finished garment that is lig...

Knitting: Animal Toy
Whether it’s Sparkle or her slightly larger cousin, Narbow the Rainbow Narwhal (knit in Viking of Norway Sportsragg) this is a cute, fun and fast knit with simple increases and decreases (make ones, ssks and k2togs) with a little backward looping cast on. The body and gusset are knit flat and the horn is picked up and knit in the round with dpn...
Knitting: Baby Blanket, Cowl, Scarf
One pattern, three variations: half a ball makes the cowl, one ball makes the scarf, one and a half to two balls makes a baby blanket. 9mm/US 13 needles are used throughout; straights for the cowl and scarf, a 24-32” circular for the blanket.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
A fun little wrap using double strands of Naturally Lace yarn in two colours. Start by using the inside and outside ends of one ball, switch to one strand of one colour and one strand of the other, then finish with the inside and outside ends of the second colour. Just knit until you run out of yarn in each case! What could be easier?
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
A lovely, drapey rectangular wrap where the lightest and darkest colours “chase” each other diagonally up the length of the piece eventually swapping places at the other end.
Knitting: Scarf
“Armadillo” can be worn as a scarf or wrap and got its name from the fact that the stitch combination reminds me of the “armor” of an armadillo somewhat.
Knitting: Mittens
A simple mitt pattern, knitted flat on two needles. Separate instructions are provided for left and right mitts because I like mittens with offset thumbs (makes it easier to figure out which is which when you are putting them on!). Uber-fluffiness is achieved by working with one strand of Leche and one strand of Angel held together at the same ...
Knitting: Animal Toy
A cute and quick way to use up small amounts of leftover sock/shawl yarn!
Knitting: Cowl
Everyone loves Linen Stitch, and I’ve used three different but complimentary colours of Bulky (or chunky for non-U.S. knitters!) yarn to achieve a nifty shifty pattern in my cowl.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Starting at the top with a double-knitted chinese-style collar, this versatile capelet uses 2 skeins of complimentary colours of Manos del Uruguay Maxima - a lovely soft and lofty singles yarn.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
This is a super quick knit that works up fast - great for last minute gift giving! There is no knitting to do for the thumb - just leave a hole when you seam each mitt. Separately knitted wrist straps and funky buttons add some unique style.
Knitting: Animal Toy
Yes, he’s a kiwi – the bird, not the fruit. Kiwis have unusual feathers that look more like fur and they are the national symbol of New Zealand. Actual kiwis are about the size of a domestic chicken and all 5 species are considered endangered – all the more reason to love the knitted version!
