Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
After a night of wine tasting with my friends one of them clearly had one too many and was walking in zig-zags to the car as her husband tried to stabilize her course. Inspiration was also taken from a quilting pattern called “Drunkard’s Path”. A tonal or solid yarn is recommended here, so it doesn’t compete with the pattern. The cable pattern ...
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
This pair of socks was made for my Spanish Instructor, Don Bruno. It incorporates slipped stitches, which makes it a good choice for yarns with subtle color changes or self-striping yarns with longer color repeats.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
The perfect pattern to make self striping yarns dance!
Knitting: Earwarmers, Headband
This is a stylish accessory for any winter wardrobe. It keeps your ears warm when worked in a worsted or bulky weight.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Suitable for a beginner this pattern looks more complicated than it is.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
The name for the pattern came to me when I watched my Wisteria slowly climbing up the trellis I had made for it this spring. I am training it in a braid, so the cables and lace on the socks reminded me of the fresh spring shoots and the ladder they were climbing up on.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This shawl/stole came into being after I did some deeper research into Vlad Tepesh, or Dracula, the “original” vampire, if you will.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This triangular shawl pattern is geared towards the shawl knitting beginner. The idea of ever increasing the number of stitches can be quite daunting.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
A fun pattern that makes little alien faces wander across your hand.
Knitting: Bracelet
Gauge is of no importance in this project.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
My love for Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Gothic stories inspired this pattern. My favorite is “ House of the Seven Gables”.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Fingerless gloves with just a band of color work on the top. They have a comfortable thumb gusset and are suitable for an adventurous beginner, trying out stranded colorwork for the first time.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
This is a textured pattern that reminds of the “ripples” that the winds create on sand dunes.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
The beads are pre-strung onto the yarn before casting on. An easy project with simple cables, perfect to try out beading for the first time.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
This is a simple slip stitch pattern that looks more complicated than it is.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
This pattern was designed for the Mystery KAL in the Fingerless Gloves Fanatics group for the month of October.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
If you would like a smaller size, use sport weight yarn with the appropriate needle size. The pattern has some give and will fit a variety of sizes.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
No special knowledge of color work is needed. The pattern is created with long stitches and the color changes every 4 rounds. No stranding, no carrying floats.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Change up the colors and you can make this pair for everyone! Even guys.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
This is perfect for color work beginners! The colors change every other round, but the pattern looks much more complicated.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Gauge is not really important. The lace panel opens up nicely when the gloves are worn, giving extra stretchy quality to the knitting. The samples measure about 8 in/20cm in total length. Unstretched they are approximately
Knitting: Hands - Other
My friend Sandy’s idea. Brides should not have to take their gloves off to receive the ring. These gloves consist of a wristband and a heart attached to it. Beads break up the heart-shaped lace work.
Knitting: Coat / Jacket, Cardigan
This Baby Cardigan is knitted in one piece up to the arm holes. Then the back and both fronts are finished separately. No side seams!
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
These gloves have quite a bit of stretch owing to the pattern. I give only one size, but the fit can be adjusted by using larger or smaller needles.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Fashioned after medieval metal gauntlets worn by the knights to protect their hands, these gloves allow you to wear them over your coat sleeves, giving you extra warmth and you can show off your stitchery, of course.

Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
These gloves are knitted flat and then seamed up. The two colors make it a fun project. Pick colors that contrast well.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
I suffer from severe second glove syndrome, so I knit all my gloves “two at a time on two circular needles”. The pattern is easily adapted for Double Pointed Needles.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
I always knit gloves or socks two at a time on two circular needles. But this pattern can be easily adapted to 3 or 4 DPN’s. It uses worsted weight yarn which makes them knit up pretty fast. The yarn has a nice halo to it because it contains Angora. It would look equally nice in a Cascade 220 or something similar.
